Abstract
Published in 2020, the graphic novel The Owners of the Land presents 7 stories in watercolor, based on narratives collected among the Tupinambá of Serra do Padeiro, in Southern Bahia (Brazil), which blend cosmological elements, remembrances, and accounts of historical and contemporary events in the Tupinambá struggle to defend their territory. Here, we present one of the stories, “Retomada” (Land Retaking). This research was supported by the National Association for Indigenous Affairs (ANAÍ).
