Abstract
The second episode of the documentary series Aiuê: Listening to the Sounds of Quilombos focuses on the theme of Culture and Traditions. The video explores the absences and continuities of cultural practices and traditions within the communities, highlighting connections between culture, spirituality, and everyday life. The series not only celebrates the cultural richness of the quilombos in the Recôncavo Baiano but also sheds light on contemporary struggles to keep this heritage alive. It portrays the impacts of social and religious changes affecting these traditions, such as the growth of Christian religions, especially evangelical churches.
It also brings to the forefront the relationship between digital technologies and quilombola culture, showcasing both the challenges and opportunities experienced within these territories.
