Abstract
The Point of No Return is a series of photographs that traces the history of HIV in Colombia. Through a photographic recreation of experiences related to the disease, as told by those who live with it, the artist invites us to affirm and reframe the present moment—exploring a history of unity, resistance, and resilience within a sense of community, to ensure non-repetition.
Moving away from the misinformation and fear fueled by the virus’s high mortality rate, the artist urges us to remember that it is possible to fully pursue a life project. This is achievable through methods that prevent transmission, promoting an end to the segregation and stigmatization of the communities most affected.
